Laminated Safety Glass consists of 2 or more sheets of ordinary glass, sandwiched together by a PVB (polyvinyl butyral) interlayer.
The key features of this type of glass are -
Safety; The PVB interlayer is what holds the glass together when it's integrity is compromised, therefore reducing the risk to people and property. An example of this would be that it is used in shop door's and shopfronts.
Security; The PVB interlayers can absorb the energy that comes from impact and are penetration resistant.
Light; This type of glass blocks 99% of UV sunrays, thus reducing fading to carpet's and furniture. |
